Dr. Carlos González-Aquino is a board-certified otolaryngologist specializing in pediatric care at San Jorge Children’s Hospital, where he has practiced since 1990. In addition to his private practice, Dr. González-Aquino also holds teaching appointments as a professor and the chairman of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine.

Dr. González-Aquino received his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, and completed his residency training in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Colorado, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. González-Aquino

also completed a pleted a fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital.

Dedicated to his profession and the medical community, Dr. González-Aquino is involved with several professional organizations, including:

• Member-Pan-American Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery

• Dr. González-Aquino has also held many elected positions in these organizations throughout his practice history, including currently serving on the Board of Governors of the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery.

His work has also been published in several book chapters and peer-reviewed journals, and Dr. González-Aquino currently serves as a member of the International Editorial Board for The Laryngoscope, an Otolaryngology journal.

In his spare time, Dr. González-Aquino enjoys playing golf and tennis, and spending time with his wife and three sons.

Dr. Felix J. Seda Diaz is a board-certified otolaryngologist currently practicing at San Jorge Medical Center in the Otolaryngology Pediatric Department. He also serves as an Ad-Honorem Professor of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Puerto Rico.

Prior to joining the staff at San Jorge Medical Center, Dr. Seda-Diaz received his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, and completed his residency training in Head and Neck Surgery at University District Hospital, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Seda-Diaz also completed a fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at San Jorge Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Seda-Diaz’s dedication to his medical profession is evident through his active participation in several organizations, including:

• American College of Physicians, Fellow

In his spare time, Dr. Seda-Diaz enjoys photography, traveling, reading and playing golf.

Dr. Melissa Ortiz-Hernandez sub-specializes in pediatric otolaryngology. This made ​​the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and disorders of the ear, nose and throat together with head and neck surgery.

She studied medicine at the Medical Sciences Campus of the University of Puerto Rico where she also completed her specialty in Otolaryngology. She was part of the team of otolaryngology at Johns Hopkins Hospital where she did her fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology. Here she managed to attend the inauguration of the new Charlotte R. Bloomberg Johns Hopkins Children's Center. She is diplomated by the "American Board of Otolaryngology."

Her training and interests focus on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions of the trachea and larynx together with swallowing problems. Of particular interest in patients with palatal insufficiency causing speech problems and their surgical repair. Also specializes in the management of neck masses that may be caused by congenital conditions such as vascular malformations or cysts, inflammatory conditions, infectious or tumor.
